All about Drag!

I met Lucia when i was in Spanish school. Actually when he is teaching Spanish his name is Carlos. When i found out that he is a Drag Queen in Barcelona i had no choice but to suggest we make a collaborative project….
We met before the painting date to plan out the session, in this project body confidence was very important. We also discussed that the session must reflect his character along with making him feel comfortable with his body. We discussed how he felt about his alta ego lucia and what the work of being a drag queen meant to him. It was such a meaningful project to both of us. We then set about deciding which bodypainting would display both the masculine and the feminine. We wanted to include both male and female aspects of his personality, show off his natural beauty, flater his shape and create a make up look with a natural theme and the colour green. Finally we opted for the mermaid to be our inspiration and it worked out great!
With no further adue, let me introduce to you Lucia, my favourite Barcelona Drag performer in Barcelona, and also the world. The photo session was probably the easiest i have ever done with all the theatrics providing plenty of interesting moments to snap up!

Conocí a Lucía cuando estaba en la escuela de español. En realidad, cuando está enseñando español, su nombre es Carlos. Cuando supe que es Drag Queen en Barcelona no tuve más remedio que sugerirle que hiciéramos un proyecto colaborativo….
Nos reunimos antes de la fecha de pintura para planificar la sesión, en este proyecto la confianza corporal era muy importante. También discutimos que la sesión debe reflejar su carácter y hacerlo sentir cómodo con su cuerpo. Hablamos de cómo se sentía acerca de su alta ego lucia y lo que significaba para él el trabajo de ser una drag queen. Fue un proyecto tan significativo para los dos. Luego nos dispusimos a decidir qué bodypainting mostraría tanto el masculino como el femenino. Queríamos incluir aspectos masculinos y femeninos de su personalidad, mostrar su belleza natural, realzar su figura y crear un estilo de maquillaje con un tema natural y el color verde. Finalmente optamos por que la sirena fuera nuestra inspiración y ¡funcionó genial!
